大滿貫等級的鷹眼(Hawk-Eye)技術引進2011台北海碩國際職業女子網球公開賽，ITF(國際網球總會)特別在官方網站發文肯定，認證海碩盃成為ITF國際職業巡迴賽第一個正式申請採用鷹眼的賽事。

報導中提到，原本只在四大公開賽和ATP、WTA大型賽事才會出現的鷹眼科技，首次進駐台灣最大型的室內多功能場館──台北小巨蛋；同時也創造歷史，海碩盃是首項通過正式申請，確定在比賽整周都啟用鷹眼的ITF職業巡迴賽。

國際職業網球賽事行政管理人Alistair Williams表示，海碩盃再次證明自己在ITF年度行事曆上不可或缺的地位，「在如此高規格的賽事中締造鷹眼歷史，更是實至名歸。」他也讚揚海碩集團總裁韓國福和賽事團隊的付出，將台灣網球水平帶到新境界，「希望藉此鼓舞更多年輕人走入這項運動。」

新科海碩盃冠軍森田步美稱讚，以ITF賽事來說，海碩盃的水準太不可思議，採用鷹眼讓球員打得更隨心所欲，不用擔心受誤判影響。

海碩盃一周比賽期間，球員共提出124次挑戰，其中成功45次，成功率36%，和正常值35%相去不遠。第六屆海碩盃也將沿用鷹眼，協助執法。

Hawk-Eye makes ITF Pro Circuit debut

TAIPEI, CHINESE TAIPEI: A familiar site at Grand Slams and ATP/WTA Tour events was seen for the first time on the ITF Pro Circuit at the $100K tournament held in Taipei the week commencing October 31st 2011.

It was here at the OEC Taipei Ladies Open that we saw the introduction of the Hawk-Eye system and big screens to show the outcome of player challenges on the ITF Pro Circuit.

The setting for this debut of Hawk-Eye on the ITF Pro Circuit came in the 15,000-seater Taipei Arena, the first multifunctional indoor stadium in Taiwan capable of seating such a vast number of spectators. A total of ten cameras were installed around the stadium where video captured was processed to 3D for broadcast on the stadiums large screens.

History was made when the first ever challenge came from Hong Kong’s Wing-Yau Venise Chan. The 22-year-old qualifier challenged a call from Line Umpire Chu-Ming Chang during her first round match in the main draw and for the first time all eyes in the stadium turned towards the big screen. Her challenge though was to be unsuccessful prompting the Line Umpire to joke afterwards: “Hawk-Eye definitely has put the Line Judges in full arms.”

In the early uses of Hawk-Eye the fans were quiet, curious as to how this worked, but as the tournament progressed the fans became more involved with the challenges made and, as has become the norm at Grand Slams and on the ATP/WTA Tours, were clapping and cheering as Hawk-Eye sprang into life to display the flight of the ball on the big screens and the all important landing of the ball!

Hawk-Eye was to eventually be called into use during 67 sets covering 28 matches throughout the week with players making correct challenges 36 per cent of the time. In total 45 correct challenges were made by players from 124 challenges.
